The #NRAboycott pushed 27 companies to cut their ties with the NRA. The NRA’s member benefits page is now a shadow of its former self, and the NRA has been given a huge black eye in the most public way. Thanks everyone for your efforts and support to make this happen! We’ll be continuing to monitor those companies that have not yet cut their ties with the NRA, as well as check for any others that the NRA might sign up in the future, and will keep you posted. In the meantime, and in honor of the March 14th National School Walkout, let’s continue using our energy to push companies to stop supporting gun violence. To help with that, we have started another petition, this one aimed at banks that finance the manufacturers of assault weapons. Yes, if you’re a customer of Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, or any of more than a dozen other banks, your deposits could be helping finance the production of assault weapons – the weapons used in Parkland and many other mass shootings. See the details in this report from Think Progress. https://thinkprogress.org/banks-financing-guns-c985a46dd4d1/ There’s a link to this new petition below. Please help kick off this next wave of activism against the companies that are bankrolling gun violence in America. In addition to signing the petition, please check out the link in the petition to the spreadsheet listing all of the banks that are financing assault gun manufacturers and reach out to them directly as well. Thanks so much for supporting the fight against gun violence.
