Petitioning CNN

Tell CNN to provide closed captioning in lowercase, and NOT ALL CAPS.

The standard for reading english in the USA is in lowercase, everywhere, from ALL newspapers, to ALL magazines, and ALL textbooks, even this webpage is lowercase and the reason for that is lowercase words are easier for the eye to identify and sentences are easier to read when in lowercase than in ALL CAPS.  Additionally , lowercase takes less space on the screen than uppercase, meaning you can put more text on one line and which permits the text to stay on the TV screen longer.  ALL CAPS are designed for headline text and titles, not continuous bodies of text, and are sub-standard and of low quality.  ALL CAPS also mean you ARE YELLING

CNN has the ability to caption their progams in lowercase, yet after numerous request, they continue to discriminate and insult the deaf and hard of hearing communities.  Its time for this to stop.

Bravo Networks used to caption in ALL CAPS and after complaints with the “Real Housewise” series they have now switched to lowercase.  CNN can do the same.
