We are counting on your attendance at the Beaufort County Natural Resources Committee meeting on Tuesday, 9/2 At 4:00 PM. Beaufort County’s Natural Resources Committee will once again consider a zoning map amendment that would remove over 400 acres from St. Helena Island’s Cultural Protection Overlay (CPO) to enable the development of a private, gated golf resort at Pine Island. Now is the time to show up for St. Helena Island and defend the CPO! The meeting will take place at the Arthur Horne Building (new Magistrate's building at 104 Ribaut Rd).
It’s urgent to voice opposition to this proposal, which flies in the face of the CPO and decades of community planning efforts. Please plan to arrive early and show up peacefully to the meeting to show your solidarity with the community. Due to limited seating capacity, there will be a gathering in the courtyard to display signs and banners. Folks are encouraged to bring a folding chair. See you there!
