I have received assurances from Barbara Newhouse, ALSA President & CEO, as well as Calaneet Balas, ALSA Executive VP of Strategy, the ALS Association is actively working on the list we provided to them last month (link attached). I also understand from people I greatly respect and admire there are new policy staff recently hired to fill vacated positions who have excellent reputations for their expertise and accomplishments. It is with great anticipation I await the results of their review of our list and plan of action. Below are comments from Calaneet Balas in an email I was copied on from January 3, 2017: “Yes, I have seen this and actually we have been working on Catherine's list categorizing it into 3 areas; 1. Things where we have resources I. Place or resources can be accessed, 2. Short term goals and 3rd. Longer term goals. Our new VP of policy, Kathleen Sheehan, had a good conversation with CMA today. I'm meeting with Kim and Kathleen on Friday to take what we have done with the list and start on the plan and outline a workgroup.” Encouraging!!!
