Today it’s come to light that an application has been submitted Telford and wrekin council on behalf of the owners of the site Basin Topco. To convert the former Beacon pub site into a supermarket and self contained flats. 

Both adjacent shops are family run and family owned and the opening of this supermarket would no doubt have a detrimental effect on their businesses.

Both shops adequately supply the local people with all that that need and there is no need for another shop in such close proximity. 

Not only will it be detrimental to trade the safety concerns surrounding increased traffic is also a concern with two neighbouring schools. The woodlands nursery and primary school and the Haberdashers Abraham Darby school. 

Where safety of children walking to and from school would be effected. 

I ask you all to support this and hopefully put a stop to any plans.
