There has been a flurry of signatures in the last couple of days, since Richmond Council announced Whitton is to be burdened with Turing House school. It is clearly a damn sight easier to sign the Change.org petition than the petition on the clunky awkward Council website. Siting Turing House in Whitton is a thoroughly stupid, I'll-thought out idiotic idea that will completely gridlock the area and destroy a massive area of tranquility forever. I don't even want to mention the Admissions Policy, as it is irrelevant. I am sick and tired of everyone inside Richmond Council harping on about it when they can do very little about it. Tania Mathias, Paul Hodgins and others are completely ignoring the many aspects of why the Whitton site is SO wrong on many levels. They are either totally ignorant to this and it isn't important to them or they know exactly how bad a selection this site is and are trying to twist everyone's mindset around to the only issue being Admissions. WE COULDNT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT ADMISSIONS. WE DO NOT OUR AREA TOTALLY DESTROYED FOR MOSTLY SOMEONE ELSES BENEFIT AND SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS TRAVESY ON A DAILY BASIS. WE WILL FIGHT THIS EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. It is way overdue that Richmond Council should start listening to their people instead of doing as they please and looking after their own kind whilst lining their own pockets.
