Petition updateTEACH TEXTURE EDUCATION: Inclusive Texture Education for Cosmetology Licenses & State TestWe Need 10,000 minimum to present to the State Board

Texture is relevant today just as it was 30 plus years ago when I started in the beauty industry. I was able to get hands on education because my family members all had different textures: wavy, curly, very curly and coily hair. I was able to practice on all textures even before I decided to go to beauty school. Today, students can learn about texture in a few cosmetology books, especially Milady's Standard Cosmetology Textbook. But most of the time it's not being taught as part of the curriculum.

Why isn't Milady's Chapter 18 & 19 being taught in most beauty schools? Well, it's not required as part of passing the state board examinations. Basic knowledge of texture haircare, blowdrying and cutting should be part of the standard education for all students.

If you agree, let's spread the word to get this petition a relevant campaign!

Thanks you!
