Family Dollar is planning to build on pristine grazing land facing Taos Mountain. The site is on Hwy 64 just south of the intersection with Millicent Rogers Road. The rear of the building faces the historic property where Frieda Lawrence, D.H. Lawrence's widow, lived and died. The current owners have recently restored the residence to its original appearance as well as being in the process of restoring the landscaping.  Not one homeowner facing the property wants to see a Family Dollar on that land.

Family Dollar will be completely out of character with its surroundings. Many petition signatures in opposition are needed to reinforce the people's will and determination that this project be denied.
