Stop the starvation of children in Yemen due to the Saudi Blockade
This petition had 1,071 supporters
Recently, the Saudi Arabian government has created a blockade around Yemen, preventing the humanitarian efforts of the UN from reaching war-torn cities. These efforts include emergency rations such as food, water, and medicine for the families who desperately need them. According to 60 Minutes (on November 19th), a child currently dies every 10 minutes from starvation in Yemen, which is already experiencing the one of the largest cholera outbreaks in history. Nearly 1 million people have been infected with the rampant disease, which dehydrates the body through nausea and diarrhea. With the death toll climbing daily, the blockade needs to be broken as soon as possible to save the lives of hundreds of thousands of children and families. To do this, Congress needs the urging of their constituents to take action. If this petition is successful, Senator Duckworth and Senator Durbin will present this issue in Congress, which may get Yemen the help they desperately need. Please help by signing this petition, and making your voice heard!
