I have not been on here in a while but that doesn't mean my mission has changed or I've given up. I consulted an attorney to file a complaint against my previous employer and there is not one thing that my attorney can find that is illegal.
* If bullying were illegal, then I would have a case.
* If harrassment (not the current protected classes: sex, race, disability, etc.) were illegal, then I would have a case.
* If retaliation, not the retaliation that involves being a witness in a complaint filed against the company, and then blatantly getting fired for it, were illegal, then I would have a case.
* If Superior/subordinate loyalty were illegal, I would have a case.
* If lying or receiving unjust write-ups were illegal, then I would have a case.
* If not being heard (both sides of the story) were illegal, then I would have a case.
* If a person in a leadership or position of power, treated an individual in a manner that was not in line with the company's vision, mission, code of conduct, and held to the same expectations of the employee, were illegal, than I would have a case.
* If an employee lying about a peer, trying to get someone fired, taking advantage of their tenure or relationship with the management to bully and harass a peer because they dislike them and not held accountable, were illegal, then I would have a case.
* If leadership violating code of conduct were illegal, then I would have a case.
* If a person in power were to deceive others in a way that affects one's livelihood were illegal, than I would have a case.
* If it were illegal for HR to ONLY consider the best interest of the employer, then I would have a case.

There are plenty more, but the point is, we need laws to protect human beings. Protected classes is very important and so is the physical and mental health of employees. Anything that causes a person physical or mental harm in the work place NEEDS TO BE ILLEGAL.

Employers SHOULD NOT have the to right treat employees any way they want or in an undignified manner. If there is a code of conduct and/or policies regarding the expectations of certain behaviors for employees, than it should be illegal for managers/owners to treat subordinates in a way that is against their very own policies.

If an owner is violating this rule/law/employee rights, than there would be a hefty fine, and depending on the severity of the violation, would need to close business for a certain amount of days. We need accountability in this country. We need a tracking system in the workplace. We need an Employee Resource rep specifically dedicated to ensuring that employees are heard and being treated fairly.

I feel there needs to be a system in place that allows a fair, unbiased, process when addressing complaints from employees or managers. This would prevent lying, favortism, defamation, one-sided stories, taking sides, and unjust write-ups. All complaints are documented, sent to person involved and the one who filed the complaint and perspective leaders. Both individuals would have the chance to state their side, ask for a meeting, resolve situation through this system by acknowledging problem, their part, what he/she will do differently next time, what was learned, and state what they need from the other person to have a cohesive and positive team and working environment.

We need to change employment laws that represent the character and values of our country. That means, the same laws should apply to our government as well. Most of our politicians have no integrity, are untrustworthy people in positions of power who retaliate against opponents by trying to ruin their name and finding dirt to expose them, ( what about our humble politicians expose their own dirt and share how they have changed and repented), and bullying and harassing and name calling over social media, TV ads, and during debates, clearly setting great examples of such disgraceful, immature, hostile, mean, and most of all, unloving attitudes and actions.

We need new employment laws!! Being a human being should be a protected class in itself.

People do not fear anything or anyone. If human beings are forgetting how to treat others the way they want to be treated, or creating an environment that is physically and/or mentally damaging to others, than we need laws to remind those who have not been taught how to do the right thing or feel entitled to do the wrong thing just because they can.

Please sign the petition on Change.org. My goal is 1000. I will be starting a YouTube channel soon, reaching out to our state representatives, utilizing social media, and reaching out to be that may be able to help guide me and advise me during this process.

It's time to change laws, influence and pray for our politicians to focus on the Character and values of the US and making it better.
