Stop releasing animals without a microchip. Stop adding to backyard breeding by failing to desex all animals that come intoyour care. Provide adequate vet care for each animal as soon as it becomes apparent that this animal needs care. Stop mistreatment.
The issue
After doing some extensive research into the facility I have found many animals being sold and kept under illegal and inhumane conditions. In addition, and whilst it is not against the law to release an animal without desexing in NSW, it does contribute to backyard breeding. Furthermore, selling any animal without a microchip is illegal. Failing to provide proper vet care or vaccination to animals that are in your care, in pain and emaciated is not only against poor practice and inhumane, but also falls under animal cruelty.
It doesn't take an expert to see the sex of an animal and when we see "Sex unknown but will see second option on Monday." Which has been displayed on your Facebook page (yes with that spelling) in regards to a kitten in your care, it rings many alarm bells. You have also recently blocked and deleted comments from anyone that has questioned you on your practice, which again arises suspicion as to the practice correct practice of vet care. A further point was one dog who was deleted from your list after outrage on its condition and in the fact that you sell your animals without vaccination which also adds to the spread of deadly diseases. This dog had, according to you "some sort of spine deformity" and was not vaccinated or treated, for its "Some sort of spine deformity", let alone adequate tests and scans done by your vet team to ascertain what the problem was with this poor dogs spine. According to you it was "not in any pain" but how could you know that without adequate tests and treatment. As an animal lover I am appalled at the lack of treatment in accordance with the law that you fail to give your animals who are under your duty of care. This is not acceptable in any way and we the undersigned demand that you treat these animals with respect, the treatment they need and in accordance with the law.
This inhumane practice must stop and your pound needs a complete change of staff to improve conditions in the so called shelter.
In addition I would implore you to open on weekends when people can adopt and look for animals, especially those that are set to be euthanized on a Monday giving them no chance to live. We also ask that you leave all comments, be it negative or positive on your Facebook page and stop editing posts that go against the law when someone brings it to your attention.
All pounds are important, but only when they're acting for the animals and not to their detriment.
