Dear Supporter, I have some great news for you! The Government of India has issued detailed guidelines for protection of Good Samaritans, who help injured persons, from ensuing legal and procedure hassles. This has been done following the order of the Supreme Court of India in the PIL, SaveLIFE Foundation vs Union of India. You can access the guidelines here: http://goo.gl/9W7FIQ. Please spread the word; we hope this will enable more people to come forward and help injured persons on the road. The Law Commission of India believes that immediate assistance can save 50% lives currently lost in road crashes across India. That’s 75,000 lives every year! If you or anyone you know is still harassed for helping an injured person do let us know at info@savelifefoundation.org and we will help you. While these guidelines are a great step forward, our work is not over yet. We are asking the Government of India to convert these guidelines into a Good Samaritan (Protection) Act so that these measures can have legislative backing, and a consequent grievance redressal mechanism at the grassroots level. I will keep you posted on developments with that. Thank you again for your continued support to this cause. Sincerely, Piyush Tewari Founder & CEO SaveLIFE Foundation
