Vancouver is a tolerant, diverse city that welcomes all of us, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, social or economic status. We believe in the best of what humanity offers, and we refuse to accept the demonization of others, or of inciting hate and mistrust.  Donald Trump, a candidate for President of the United States - and a real estate developer - plans to put his name on an iconic tower designed by Canadian great Arthur Erickson.  By allowing the Trump name to be seen on this building, we will tarnish the legacy of Mr Erickson, and allow a name now synonymous with ignorance, intolerance and hate mongering to shine above our city.  By signing this petition, we hope to encourage the Mayor and Council of the City of Vancouver to force the developers of this building to remove the Trump name from this building, and instead to encourage the developers to find a name that reflects the values and openness of our great city.
