Dear Supporters,
We hope this message finds you in good gaming spirits. We are writing to provide you with an update on our ongoing petition calling on Activision to publically name and shame cheaters' gamer tags in Call of Duty.
Recently, Activision released an update regarding their efforts to combat cheating in the gaming community. Under the initiative called #TeamRICOCHET, they have implemented new Machine Learning advancements and a Replay Investigation Tool to detect and remove cheaters more efficiently and swiftly. These measures are aimed at enhancing the overall experience of Ranked Play across their gaming titles.
However, we have received word from skeptical hacker hunters who claim that video footage showcasing these mitigation efforts is scarce at best. They express concern that Activision's measures may be more smoke and mirrors rather than genuine security enforcement.
While we acknowledge Activision's efforts in banning over 80,000 cheating accounts in preparation for the launch of #MW3, it is disheartening to note that, in the past, they have banned up to 500,000 cheaters at a time. This raises doubts about the effectiveness of their current anti-cheat measures. Moreover, the rate at which Activision currently reviews accounts, reportedly around 700 per day, seems insufficient when considering the potentially large number of cheaters within the player base.
Therefore, we reiterate our demand that Activision adopts a transparent approach and publicly shares an IGN database of players who have been banned due to cheating. This action would bring about real accountability and serve as a deterrent to potential cheaters, similar to Valve's practice with VAC. Naming and shaming cheaters have proved effective in other gaming platforms, and we believe they can significantly contribute to the fair and enjoyable gameplay experience that we all desire.
We urge you to continue supporting our petition by signing and sharing it with your friends, family, and fellow gamers. Together, we can exert pressure on Activision to prioritize player security and enhance their efforts in combating cheaters within the Call of Duty community.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Your commitment to a fair gaming environment is truly inspiring and continues to be the driving force behind our campaign.
