Release the Extended Uncut Version of COBRA (1986)

The issue

According to many websites such as IMDb, there's a 120+ minute-long workprint version of the 1986 cult classic Sylvester Stallone action thriller film Cobra. From what I've heard, fans of the film from Germany are planning on making a fan edit of the film using footage from the Blu-ray special edition, the television cut, and the workprint version. I don't know if this is true nor do I know when this is going to happen.

For fans of the film, here's a very detailed review of the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnZnTA05Di0

Here's an in-depth fan discussion of the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks-3iiGIfmQ

Here's a discussion forum where some of the many MPAA cuts of the film are listed: http://www.worldwidedvdforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=15675

Cobra is a very fast-paced and entertaining 80's action film with excellently-edited, well-shot, and competently-made action sequences and Sylvester Stallone being given the most screentime out of all the actors in the movie. However, watching the film again, there are some huge gaps in the story.

The missing 30+ minutes of footage might help with this, but hopefully, we'll have the chance to see a genuine special edition of the film and we hope someone will be able to locate the missing footage. However, instead of finding a workprint and mixing the footage of that version together with the theatrical footage, I believe we should see the original director's cut.

In fact, the version that they wanted to release in theaters was near two hours long, but the workprint was over two hours long. So, just like the 129-minute-long workprint version of the Jean-Claude Van Damme film Hard Target (not John Woo's intended 116-minute director's cut), this workprint is the very first cut of the film that probably still had to be cut for the theatrical release.

In the end, Cobra deserves a special edition with the missing footage fully restored for us fans to see. I made this petition to convince Warner Bros. and Sylvester Stallone that the fans care about this film and the release of the original director's cut. Since The Expendables 3 will be coming out this August and Hulk Hogan has confirmed on his Twitter that he'll be in The Expendables 4, this is a perfect opportunity to have a fan favorite in one of the Expendables' filmography get a true special edition with the fully restored 120-minute long original cut.
