Press Release from Embrace Australian Values Alliance - Victory of Protest against Maoist concert
September 1, 2016
With the dedication and efforts of our friends on social media and friends from all walks of life, and wide-reaching coverage by the mainstream media and a few independent Chinese media, the Sydney City Council today announced the cancellation of the lease for the Maoist concert. This is followed by the withdrawal of the venue booking at Melbourne Town Hall by the concert organisers.
Representatives of the Embrace Australian Values Alliance (EAVA) would like to share the great joy of this victorious moment with every participant and express our appreciation for the decision made by the City of Sydney.
We would like to announce the cancellation of all scheduled protests in front of the Sydney/Melbourne Town Hall buildings on September 2, September 6 and September 9 and daily protests.
We would like to thank those working behind the scenes, and everyone who did their part with a true Australian spirit. We embraced and defended Australian values on a matter that concerns all of us as human beings.
It has been proven that as long as every one of us does not remain silent, we can forge a loud voice for victory. However, due to our years of complacency, the Communist soft power in Australia has manifested into every sector of our life. It is everyone’s responsibility to resist Maoism and defend this democratic country from ideologies built on the back of violence and hatred.
Therefore, the current victory is only a small step for us. There is still a long way to go for embracing and defending Australian values. Let us join hands and come together to share ideas and contribute to this great nation of ours!
In view of this, we have decided:
I. to hold a picnic party at Bicentennial Park from 10:00 to 13:00 on September 4 (Sunday) to exchange views about our future actions. Enter the Park from Australia Ave, and follow Bicentennial Dr in the Park near the Sydney Olympic Park. Please bring your own food, and there are some BBQ facilities. Please call Mr. Cheng on 0434 479 416 and book numbers of those attending.
II. No change to the scheduled Seminar on topic “Maoism: Honeydew or Poison” on the UTS city campus at CB10.02.470, UTS, 235-253 Jones Street, Broadway (please look for building CB10 on the map: http://maps.uts.edu.au/map.cfm) from 14:00 to 17:00 on the same day as above (September 4).
