Since our last update 3 days ago, there has been extensive media coverage on this issue by various newspapers, websites, radio stations and television. We were also covered by SBS tonight. The rest of the media were asked to leave/or stopped at the door, including a few people who wanted to ask the organisers some questions in relation to the content of the concert. Among the protestors was a high profile Chinese community leader who alleged that the owner of the main sponsoring company for these Mao concerts ignored a court order to repay over $300,000. For the next few days until the concert, we will continue to lobby the Sydney City Council to cancel the hall hire. Maoism is all about violence and class struggle. The worship of Maoism through this concert is not only dividing Australian communities but also creating a dangerous breeding ground for terrorism and violence.
