Petition updateStop Swansea Council felling 50 trees in the city centre.

Update on Swansea's Trees

S HBrynmill, WLS, United Kingdom
13 Jun 2018
1. We submitted a FOI request asking why the trees were felled. The Council replied with information repeated elsewhere and did not provide any of the supporting documents asked for. This is now being escalated so watch this space for developments. 2. We had some of the trees independently examined to check for signs of disease or damage. Several matched what the Council said about improper planting causing disease. 3. The Council agreed to send us an individual explanation for each tree felled. Some of the reasons matched what they had said elsewhere but others contradicted them. We have asked for further clarification for these mixed messages. 4. More changes are coming. Visit St David's Church Hall on 15.06.18 from 9.30am to 8pm to learn more and share your views. 5. In the mean time, follow the Facebook page for side-projects like replanting shoots and carving logs: https://www.facebook.com/SaveSwanseaTrees/
