Good Morning, First of all I want to say, God Bless the people of Manchester as they work through the tragedy of a senseless attack. I know it's been a long time since I last updated everyone, but I had a few things in the works. Today, one of those things became a reality, and I can't wait to share it with you. Since my last update, I learned a few things about this story that I think are very important. First, it turns out that Mr. L was placed on unpaid suspension for THREE of the days he was gone. I'm still trying to figure out why, but since the School Board hides everything under the guise of "a personnel matter," that's been a bit difficult to track down. I do know that the UNPAID suspension came after the original PAID suspension, it also came after Mr. L attended a meeting with OCS leaders. I would love to know what happened in that meeting, because at last check Mr. L was still determined to fight the good fight. Now, as you all know when this story was first published, it was posted on a "citizen journalist" Facebook page, and that "citizen journalist" chose to name the victim. I made it very clear that I did not agree with that method, but due to that decision I also used Mr. L's name to garner him some support in the community. However, I'm still not happy that someone who considered himself a journalist thought it was a good idea to name the victim in this case. That's where Daily Beast Journalist, James Laporta, comes in to play! Big Thank You to him for publishing the attached article. As this story unfolded many of you asked me if I could identify the "citizen journalist," unfortunately I could not, but after the group admonishment he received on his page he made a mistake, and has since been identified. All your questions are answered in the link attached. I have not given up this fight, and plan to make sure that Mr. L returns to the classroom that he loves, if that is what he chooses. Please continue to support the cause, and if you live in Onslow County write the school board members and ask them to make the right decision and support the teacher in this case. Thank you all! Have a wonderful day! http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2017/05/23/felon-turned-fake-journalist-outed-a-beloved-gay-teacher
