Foie Gras is a totally unnecessary food source we can do without. Do we really need to subject ducks and geese to this abhorrent and barbaric practise all for a few seconds of so called pleasure. They are force fed through a feeding tube over a period of time in order to fatten them up quickly.

'A feeding tube is inserted into the oesophagus (gullet) and boiled maize mixed with fat is delivered by an auger (a screw which is operated by hand or an electric motor) or a pneumatic or hydraulic system. Mechanised systems may deliver the feed in just 2-3 seconds, allowing one person to force feed up to 400 caged ducks in an hour.' An extract taken from 'Compassion in World Farming.'

Is this something we should be teaching our young people is acceptable? I am petitioning my local college who are serving this in their restaurant open to the public as well as teaching their students to cook it.

It is about time we put a stop to this. How we treat animals affects us humans.
