RANs Safety - United We StandAustralia
27 Apr 2016
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who has signed and forwarded on our petition. There's a huge 130,000 signatures so far.
On Tuesday, one our colleagues met with Minister Nash to discuss RAN safety and our call for abolishment of single nurse posts & #Gayleslaw Never Alone to be legislated. Senator Nash was receptive and supportive, but these things take time to change.
In the past 24 hours two more Remote Area Nurses have been assaulted in two different states.
As a result we are re-opening the petition - we need your further support. We are asking everyone to contact their local MP or State/Territory Health Minister in regards to our cause. Ask them “What are you doing about RAN safety?” Here's their details:
WA: Minister.Day@dpc.wa.gov.au
QLD: health@ministerial.qld.gov.au
NT: Minister.Elferink@nt.gov.au
SA: minister.health@health.sa.gov.au
TAS: michael.ferguson@parliament.tas.gov.au
NSW: office@skinner.minister.nsw.gov.au
VIC: jill.hennessy@parliament.vic.gov.au
Your support has been greatly appreciated. We need to keep our plight tabled in the public arena until changes are made to ensure our safety at work is valued and the risks of serious assault or death are minimalized.
Please help us.
Tomorrow we bury our friend and colleague.
We will send you a link to a tribute we have composed in her honour.
Thank you for your support
