The inaction continues

*A graphic image is displayed if you click onto the link.* Thank you to everyone for your support with our petition and campaign, we have been overwhelmed with the public support and the media support. Sen. Nash had a meeting with health groups on Wednesday, unfortunately no frontline nurses were invited to take part, despite an email I sent requesting an invite for a small delegation. Not being privy to all that was said during the meeting I can only speak about what little information I have been given. So far, Sen. Nash has stated she will form a committee, as yet we are unsure when this will happen. This is unacceptable! Firstly, the money that is to be used for this committee would be better spent now in communities for the safety of RANs. The committee, once formed could then review the effectiveness of the new safety measures. Attached to this update is a picture of a nurse who has been physically assaulted during the course of work in a remote community, if you believe this is unacceptable phone Sen. Nash on (02) 6382 3400 and leave a message asking her to make mandatory changes to ensure there are always 2 responders after hours and to abolish single nurse posts. Lastly, I apologise to Sen. Nash for wrongly stating she was taking leave at present. A small oversight, but an oversight nonetheless. Many thanks, RANs P.S.
