On behalf of all RANs across Australia I would like to thank you all for signing and supporting our petition. We have been overwhelmed with the response and cannot thank you enough. To all media a huge thank you for getting our message out there. To Nick Xenophon we are extremely grateful for taking our cause to Parliament. And lastly to NT Minister Elferink, your antiquated views of having to protect ourselves is deplorable. As a former police officer of course you would feel safe travelling with a weapon and a partner. However, when I rang for assistance two years ago I was fobbed off by your colleagues in a community that had NO mobile reception and NO police presence.
