Thanks to all who came out on November 1st when residents met with Regional staff regarding the micro-homes pilot program and transitional housing project. Next steps will be to form alliance with another residential community and create a larger residents association with possible expansion in mind. This will be a grassroots advocacy by and for the residents in Oshawa and possibly the Durham Region on issues pertaining to homelessness, poverty, drug addiction, green space, drinking water, crime, emergency services...to name a few. If city councillors are not public facing in their efforts as they were originally elected to do, we will need to fight the good fight as citizens to hold the Region accountable and keep our city vibrant and safe.
First members will be myself, and a handful of others to be identified once the association is registered and formed from a regulatory perspective.
