Snippit from Ward 4 Debate October 4

Attached is a video taken from last nights debate at the Biltmore. This video highlights what you really need to know. It captures the 2 minute closing statement for each candidate. Notice Kerr mentions he will be moving Mission United to a few unannounced locations. One of those locations is actually going to be Simcoe, closer to Gibb/Olive even closer to our neighbourhood which is already saturated with programs. So, not finding solutions by spreading social services to other jurisdictions within the region. His plan is to quite simply move services around within the Ward. Not at all solving problems for the residents. This is yet another decision made without public consultation, which seems to be a pattern if you read my last update. Another housing structure coming up the street for 400 residents.

Without public consultation, we will be playing municipal whack-a-mole with every new service and program that is centralized in our neighbourhood. That's a lot of work.

Giberson, well what can I say? He stands on a hill of righteousness, tells everyone they are exaggerating the issues and so in his view we ought to change the "narrative", so basically it's your fault if you have a problem with the amount of homelessness and drug addiction in the Ward. So now we are a shameful and intolerant community. Of course.

Newsflash Derek: my car was broken into again two nights ago. How much more do you want us to tolerate exactly? What do you think bringing another 500 social housing programs will do to our neighbourhood and the value of our homes?
