Essex County Council has banded all its libraries into four tiers. Shenfield library has been put into tier three – eligible for volunteers to run subject to their business plan being approved. 

Shenfield library is an essential hub for our community, encouraging reading and learning for the young, providing access to computers, classes for parents and toddlers, an outlet for local creative talent and school projects and a safe meeting space for groups and individuals, young and old.

To lose Shenfield library as we know it would be a huge loss to the community.
