The state of Uttarakhand approved 25 Cr INR of public money for a project looking for the mythical Sanjeevani herb described in the Ramayana. The project is a waste of taxpayer money, since there has never been any evidence of the herb's existence.

25 Cr (about 3.7 million USD) can instead be spent developing modern healthcare infrastructure in Uttarakhand, where state-sponsored healthcare is already struggling.
