It was just like any other night, when five months old Dhrubajyoti went to sleep with his parents after a day of smiles, play and giggles. His innocent smile would have spread the sunshine for his family if he would not have become the victim of a heinous gang of miscreants, if he would not have been kidnapped in the depth of the night of August 4, 2020 from his house in Kazidahar Village, Sonai Block, Cachar district of Assam. The miscreants had an information about which window did not have a grill and they broke the window to take the sleeping infant away. When suddenly the mother woke up, she did not find her baby on the bed. They frantically searched for him. Later, the father received a call for a ransom of 10 lakhs from the miscreants. After negotiations they agreed to a sum of ₹1.5 lakhs. When a lady relative went to drop the bag of cash in a tea garden, the police who had been following in disguise caught one of the miscreants and thereafter two more were caught. They confessed to the crime and said that on the night of kidnapping, since the baby was crying a lot, they had strangulated and killed him. The body of the baby was exhumed from under a bridge the next morning.
It is now 12th August and although the people are demanding justice, the police has been unable to round up the entire gang. I would like to ask all the mothers in the world - Do you think such things should happen to our children? Please think about the parents who have lost their child to greedy anti-social gangs who are not human but monsters as their hands did not shake before strangulating a baby who was only five months old. I request every caring citizen of our country to sign this petition which will be sent as a prayer to our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, and our honourable Chief Justice, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal Ji and our judicial system to give justice to the parents without delay and in such a way that these kind of crimes are never repeated in any part of our country. So, that Sir, our children can sleep peacefully in their beds, we pray that you give your personal attention to this incident. Even the simplest villager is a loyal citizen of this country. We, the common people, seek justice for 5 months old Dhrubajyoti and for the innumerable children who have lost their lives to the greed of anti-social people. We shall remain grateful for your personal attention and prompt action.
