LEBAO WULaverton, Australie
25 avr. 2016
We have received responses from the University of Sydney that the racism allegation against Mr. Wu Wei has been dropped. We have verified with Mr. Wu himself that this case has been dealt with appropriately with respect to the due process set by the University.
With our thanks to the 1500 supporters who have joined us over the past week, we would like to officially end this petition, which focuses particularly on the racism allegation against Mr. Wu.
We furthermore urge our supporters and the public to continue focusing on the issues around Wu Wei's case, including:
1. Academic misconduct among Chinese international students, such as plagiarism, hiring essay writers and fake certification;
2. The integrity of the Australian academic environment under the pressure of an influx of full fee paying students;
3. Chinese government's increasingly intrusive attempts to curb voices of overseas dissidents;
4. and of course, the principles of anti-discrimination and freedom of speech, which are among Australia’s core values .
1. 中国留学生群体中盛行的学术不端问题,包括剽窃、代写论文、伪造证书等;
2. 在海外付费学生涌入的背景下,澳大利亚的学术环境的独立性问题;
3. 中国政府对于海外异议声音日益增强的干预问题;
