Metropolitan Cricket has proposed the development of a major international cricket ground in the New York City metropolitan area. This unique venue, designed to meet ICC standards and to attract major international matches, includes a grandstand capacity of 38,000, 2,000 club seats and 40 corporate suites. In addition, the proposed project includes two full-size practice fields and a state-of-the-art, 50,000 sf indoor training center and cricket academy
Unfortunately, we cricket fans will not be able to enjoy our sport in a premier venue because local politicians who decide what you and we get to see and enjoy in sports, think baseball and football are the only sports that attract fans. Straight up, these politicians believe there simply aren’t many cricket fans in the New York City metropolitan area. If we want a world-class cricket ground in the financial, media, marketing and entertainment capital of the world, if we want opportunities to see major international teams compete in our “backyard”, we cricket fans (and our friends in the building and construction trades) need to show the politicians that their thinking is wrong – especially about a project that would generate over 5,000 union construction jobs.
Please support the development of this major cricket ground in the New York City metropolitan area. Politicians listen to numbers. Support this petition by entering your name and city where you reside (politicians pay more attention when they know they’re hearing from a constituent). Join this campaign and help show the politicians that we have the numbers on our side.
