This is especially powerful for the bill as both Council Members are Chairmen of prominent Committees in City Council. Council Member Carlos Menchaca, District 38 (Red Hook, Sunset Park) He is the Chairman of the Committee on Immigration and has been working hard to preserve his community and give a voice to the most underrepresented group, our immigrant business owners. Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer, District 26 (Sunnyside, Woodside, Long Island City) He is the Chairman of the Committee on Cultural Affairs who sides with the artists who are getting pushed out at an alarming rate.
