What’s New in the SERVE Act Petition?
We’ve made key updates to ensure the SERVE Act addresses the most pressing issues facing Veterans and Service Members today. Here’s what we’ve added:

1. TBI Review Timelines and Retroactive Purple Heart Applications:
   The SERVE Act now includes a 2-year deadline to review TBI cases and allows for retroactive Purple Heart applications, ensuring that those who were unjustly denied recognition can finally receive it.
2. GI Bill Restoration for 9/11 Veterans:
   Veterans who used the previous GI Bill after 9/11 but before the Post-9/11 GI Bill will have their benefits reinstated, providing educational support they were initially promised.
3. Degree Conferment Across All Branches:
   The updated SERVE Act ensures Service Members in all branches have equal access to educational opportunities, creating clearer pathways to career advancement and addressing recruiting shortfalls.
4. Full Disability for Amputee Veterans:
   Any Veteran who lost a limb in service will now receive 100% Permanent and Total disability status, a major step toward fair treatment and lifelong support.
5. Income Cap Removal for Disability Benefits:
   The SERVE Act proposes to increase or remove caps on Permanent, Total, and Unemployability ratings, allowing Veterans to earn more through part-time or freelance work without losing benefits.
6. Economic Impact of Veteran Education:
   Did you know investing in Veteran education yields a 2-to-1 return? This update emphasizes the economic benefit of the SERVE Act, highlighting how it strengthens local economies and reduces government dependency.
