Black history in Nashville, Tennessee is an essential and inseparable part of American history.
It deserves to be preserved, honored, and shared through a museum dedicated to the Black experience—one that tells the stories of resilience, achievement, culture, struggle, and triumph.
Such a museum would serve as a place of education and reflection, welcoming visitors from across the nation and around the world to experience, appreciate, and celebrate the profound contributions of Black people to Nashville and the fabric of American history.
Councilmember Jennifer Gamble
Nashville and Davidson County, District 3
