What started as an idea is becoming a real celebration for our community.
Behind the scenes, we have been working to build the foundation for the Boricua Block Party—a neighborhood event created to celebrate Puerto Rican culture, Cleveland families, local businesses, artists, performers, volunteers, and everyone who carries Borinquen in their heart.
Here are some of the steps we have taken:
🌴 Established the Boricua Block Party identity and official website
🎟️ Created free attendee and family registration
🍽️ Developed a complete application process for food vendors, artists, makers, businesses, and community organizations
🤝 Created culturally inspired sponsorship opportunities
🙌 Opened volunteer and performer applications
📄 Collected official Cleveland vendor, food-safety, licensing, and permit resources
📣 Built an announcement center for schedules, deadlines, parking, weather, and event updates
👥 Developed a Community Hub where attendees, vendors, volunteers, performers, sponsors, and neighbors can stay connected
♿ Began building dedicated safety, accessibility, event-map, and visitor-information resources
🌎 Added English and Spanish information so more families can participate
💻 Created a system that allows our team to organize registrations and applications as we continue planning
This work is about more than putting together an event. It is about creating a space where our culture is visible, our entrepreneurs are supported, our music is heard, our elders are honored, and our children can see the strength and beauty of being Boricua.
