Dear Supporters,

I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits.

It’s been a minute, but I wanted to circle back and provide an update to everyone who supported my petition around the mixed-race experience.

In 2023, when I launched it, I was deeply passionate about shining a light on how the current civil rights laws often erases or oversimplifies what it means to be mixed in America. The petition was never about asking for special or preferential treatment—it was about acknowledging the specific challenges that come with having a multiethnic identity, especially in systems that still operate in racial binaries.

We gained over 350 signatures, and that was meaningful.

That told me people saw the gap.

People cared.

But since things have escalated politically, there's been a shift. 

The national conversation is (understandably) focusing more on preserving basic rights and protections for all people of color - especially the Black community.

And now the space for our nuances—the mixed-race experience—have been pushed to the background again.

So I chose to step back. Not because the mission changed, but because there's an urgent need to focus on the greater good of the entire Black community.

I care deeply about the future of our country and all decent, caring citizens. Now is a time for us to unite for good.
