Petition updateSupport repayable emergency bridge loans for Canadian owner-operator truckers

quick update — the industry is saying the same thing now

hi everyone, quick update. an industry group called the canada truck operators association just put out the same numbers i've been talking about. they showed a brokered load from quebec to chicago at $2,000 us, about $2.40 a loaded mile, when the average cost to run a truck is $2.336 a mile before empty miles and border costs. their words: the carrier is effectively subsidizing someone else's freight.

and back in march, that same group asked the government for targeted bridge financing for small carriers and owner-operators. that's exactly what this petition is asking for. so it's not just me saying it anymore. i emailed the canada truck operators association about this petition today to see if they'll help spread the word.

i also checked the new bdc pivot to grow loan everyone keeps mentioning. it doesn't fit. it's for companies that export to the us, with over a million in revenue. i'm a canadian-only carrier, my truck died from a bad rebuild, not tariffs, and i have no revenue right now. still no federal program for guys like me.

the house of commons petition still needs 5 supporters to get started. if you're willing, send your name and the email you want to use to bloodhoundtruckingservices@gmail.com and i'll get it going.

thank you, dave
