Mission accomplished! Not only will we have a Rainbow Crosswalk between Meridian Place and Heritage Park on Simcoe street in Barrie, but we now also have a $7K commitment from The City of Barrie to create a 2SLGBTQ+ fund to support initiatives within our community. A huge thank you to Councillor Keenan Aylwin and Mayor Jeff Lehman for your leadership on this matter. Thanks also to Councillor Mike McCann for working to bring about a compromise that benefits us all and for the rest of city council for unanimously passing this motion. We may see the crosswalk in place in time for Promenade Days and the Canada Day long weekend...woohoo!�️‍�
