Please share this article with the parents you know at Northwood High, Sierra Vista Middle, and the elementary schools that feed into Northwood High. If they are concerned with what they learn from EdSource, please ask them to add their names to this Change.org petition and strengthen this effort to make our voices heard at Northwood High School.

We believe that our district and Northwood leaders have good intentions, but their most recent responses to our concerns don't offer any new substance. Instead, the responses repeat the same reasoning for keeping the ESEY curriculum model that has been repeated for years at Northwood.

Your involvement is the driving force of this effort, because when you write about the instruction your child receives in their Integrated Science classrooms this academic quarter, or speak to other parents and spread the word that this petition exists, students will know that many of their classmates face the same frustrations with Northwood’s science program. Make sure your child knows they are not alone, and that there are ways we can improve the situation by speaking up together.

Please spread the word about the EdSource article about Northwood, and about this petition. We will be attending the IUSD board meeting on November 12, 2019 (Tuesday) at 6:30 p.m., located in the IUSD District Administration Center at 5050 Barranca Parkway, Irvine, CA 92604. Join us then to help send the message to Superintendent Terry Walker and the Board of Education that we need their help to improve the situation.
