Hola Peeps,

Last August a group of Veterans from across the country got together over Zoom for buddy checks. Locked down and in quarantine, we were all feeling the pressure. Those buddy checks turned into action, literally, The Veterans Action Council was born. We all figured there was no sense in wasting an opportunity, so we began to identify ways to push our issues forward. 

Every single member of the Veterans Action Council understands that in order for our community to acheive the goals it has set out for itself, we must fight as a team. We each have come as far as we individually can in our advocacy. Since August we have been looking to lift up our Brothers and Sisters who are leading the charge, and identify openings for collective action. 

Last week we sat down with council member Bryan Buckley, of the Helmand Vallley Growers Company and Battle Brothers Foundation, to discuss their recent private IRB approval. We touched on where he's off to now with respect to researching the safety and efficacy of cannabis being used real time by Veterans, and dug a bit deeper into the motivation behind his work.
