The University of Arizona has not been a fan of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act, and their campus police department is ready to start arresting medical patients who possess, or consume cannabis while on campus. Today I approached two university police officers and asked them why. They both stated that they are enforcing federal cannabis laws, regardless of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act. Now I'm scheduling a meeting with the UA Chief of Police to have a frank discussion about the issue. Please call/email/visit the University of Arizona Police Department and campus administrators to share your concerns about this campus policy, and ask them to reconsider it.
