Hello Everyone!
So excited that we're over 10,000+ supporters and still going strong. I have to important updates to share.
First... please continue to share, send those emails (see previous updates and the Facebook Group) to friends, colleagues, HMH Leadership, Government Officials, News Outlets...
There will be a PUBLIC meeting held today at 3:30pm at HUMC. Virtual attendance is possible. You MUST pre-register by calling 551-996-2002. This is the HUMC Annual Public Meeting and it's a great forum to express concerns... there is a Q&A at the end.
Please remember to be civil. We are trying to partner with leadership for an outcome that works for everyone. We want a seat at the table to help shape the Early Childhood Education program into something sustainable and beneficial for all.
Bringing anger, outrage, and demands without cooperation will not be productive.
We need to drive home the NEED for a FULL RESTORATION of the ECE's and their staff. From there we can work together to resolve any of the issues that have brought us to this moment.
Restoring the ECE's DIRECTLY ALIGNS WITH THE SENTIMENTS OF CEO ROBERT GARRET that were published in 2021... see the quote in the update graphic. "Infusing empathy into all levels of your business and modeling it for others is the best way to establish your organization's 'true north.' It's about doing hat's best for your team members, your customers, your communities, and the world."
Our leadership has an opportunity to model to everyone what it means to KEEP GETTING BETTER.
PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND THE MEETING. Though not directly related to the ECE Closures, we're hopeful to drive the conversation to that topic.
Additonally:
- We really need an Executive Level Sponsor or Champion. I have to believe that most of our senior-level executives do not agree with the decision to close the ECE's. If any member of leadership is willing to step forward to show support, we'd be happy to hear from you on the "Save HMH Childcare" Facebook page.
- We MUST continue to increase awareness. I am shocked that with 10,000+ supporters (which is almost 1/3 of HMH's entire workforce) that many of our coworkers aren't even aware of this situation.
- Let's try to remind our coworkers (EVEN MANY EXECUTIVES) that they once had children enrolled in these programs. They know the benefits. They know how their children thrived. We all want the same for our children, and many more generations of children.
I AM SO PROUD OF WHAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED TOGETHER SO FAR. KEEP THE MOMENTUM AND KEEP GETTING BETTER!
