THE MOVEMENT CONTINUES! With your support, the petition is gaining steam by the minute!!! THANK YOU! Please read today's update...
I want to remind everyone that the motive of this movement isn't about anger, revenge, or retribution.
While we may not always be proud of our leadership's decision-making, many of us are still proud of the legacy organizations we've come from, and how we've grown together since the mergers. Among us "regular folk" we have unified ourselves, our departments, and our collective goals. We now rise together, and fall together as a Hackensack Meridian Health family.
The purpose of this movement is to stand together, and to create opportunities. First, an opportunity for us to represent to our leadership the needs of the human beings who keep this ship afloat. The captains may steer the direction, but without the crew, the ship cannot sail.
The second opportunity is for leadership. For Bob Garret and Linda McHugh to HEAR our voices. To UNDERSTAND our needs. To CORRECT their course. Everyone makes mistakes. True leaders are the ones who realize a mistake has been made, own that responsibility, and make the appropriate changes.
It is NOT too late for this to be undone. Realizing and correcting a mistake is not weakness - - it's the ultimate show of strength!
We need to continue to be vocal. Keep posting on social media. Reach out to friends, family, and colleagues. Think about who you know that can help amplify our voices. Unions, professional organizations, news outlets. Every additional voice helps to create the opportunities necessary to fix this situation.
Remember, above all, this is not about money. It's about respect. Ensuring that our leaders know we DEMAND the respect we deserve as healthcare workers, as parents, as people. And in return for a decision well made, our leadership may earn our respect as well.
The best work is done for leaders who are respected by their teams. That has always been true.
We are all dedicated to our professions. The Early Childhood Education centers are not a luxury. They enable HMHM Team Members to be the BEST POSSIBLE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS IN THE STATE!! They are an essential brick in our foundation. Our leadership should be looking to strengthen our organization. Removing the bricks that support it - - we know what happens then - and I hope they realize it soon!
So please, do not forget to continue to share and promote this petition.
For HMH Team Members, we implore you to craft those simple, polite emails to your direct leaders, or directly to Linda.McHugh@hmhn.org and Robert Garrett (rcg@hmhn.org) to let your voice be heard!

Hello [leader's name],
I would like to formally declare that I do not agree with the decision to close the HMH Early Childhood Education Centers. Please forward this email to your leader, so they can also forward it up the chain until it reaches Linda McHugh and Bob Garrett. They need to know how the organization feels about the decision, and what a dreadful mistake it is. Hopefully they can reverse it before it's too late.
Thank you,
[Team Member Name]
