Thank you to everyone who has signed so far. Your support means the world. We are currently at 18 signatures, and every single signature matters.

I have now emailed NPR and reached out to multiple journalists and media accountability contacts for support. This petition is about more than one article, one opinion, or one critic. It is about asking NPR, a public-trust media institution, to take serious concerns about editorial accountability, racial and cultural bias, and the treatment of Michael Jackson’s legacy seriously.

Michael Jackson was one of the most significant Black artists in modern history. When his life, work, and cultural impact are covered by major media outlets, especially public media, that coverage should be fair, accurate, culturally informed, and accountable to the communities it affects.

For nearly four decades, Michael Jackson’s name, image, and legacy have been subjected to relentless media framing that many fans and supporters believe has been biased, harmful, racially insensitive, and deeply unfair. Too often, his humanity, artistry, cultural contributions, and historical importance have been overshadowed by sensationalism, corporate media narratives, and commentary that does not reflect the full truth of who he was or what he gave to the world.

This petition is a call for change. It is a call to protect Black cultural history, to demand fair media standards, and to insist that Michael Jackson’s legacy be treated with the same seriousness, care, and respect afforded to other major cultural figures.

This is not about harassment or personal attacks. It is about accountability. It is about truth. It is about refusing to let decades of damaging media narratives define one of the most important artists in history.

I am asking for your help to increase this petition’s reach. Please sign, share, repost, and send it to anyone who believes public-trust media should be held accountable for how it covers Black artists, Black history, and Michael Jackson’s legacy.

Thank you all so much for standing with this effort. Every share helps. Every signature matters.

Please take one minute to do three things:

-Sign the petition if you have not already.
S-hare it with Michael Jackson fans, music history communities, Black media accountability groups, and anyone who cares about fair public media coverage.
-Post it on Facebook, X, Instagram stories, TikTok, fan pages, group chats, and email lists.

Even one share can put this in front of the right person.

This campaign is not about harassment or personal attacks. It is about public accountability, editorial review, and making sure Black cultural legacies are not dismissed, distorted, or treated unfairly by institutions that benefit from public trust.

Thank you for standing with this effort. Please keep sharing.
