In 2017, President Masood Barzani led the charge for a referendum on an independent Kurdistan, calling on all Kurds to come together and vote for the establishment of a free Kurdistan. As President of the Kurdistan Region, Barzani tirelessly campaigned for the referendum, viewing it as a democratic opportunity for the nation to finally achieve its long-held desire for independence.
Barzani held rallies far and wide to rally support for the independence movement. It is the ultimate dream of every Kurd to see a free Kurdistan, where people can live freely with basic human rights, respecting all religions, coming together as a united nation that believes in democracy. A beacon of hope for the Middle East, a model country for the entire region - this is the vision of a free Kurdistan.
The Kurdish people are known for their bravery, their compassion, and their fight against tyranny. Despite being surrounded by enemies who seek to suppress them, the Kurds stand strong in their belief in humanity. The Kurdish government prioritizes education, building schools for all to benefit from, rather than religious structures that exclude certain individuals. To this day, Kurdistan remains a safe haven for refugees from Iraq and Syria, providing protection and security.
It is time for us to come together and advocate for Kurdistan. Let us reach out to our senators, congressmen, congresswomen, and the White House. As Americans we have the right to ask our state representatives to support the dream of a free Kurdistan. By signing petitions, contacting our leaders, and raising our voices, we can make a difference. We, the people, have the power to bring about change.
Let us stand in solidarity with the Kurdish people, who have long yearned for freedom and independence. Together, we can help make their dreams a reality. Freedom for Kurdistan - let's make it happen.
With love,
