Thank you for your support! I have been working tirelessly with volunteers, organizations, and media across the country to create awareness of the legalities of kids lemonade stands, and working to make them legal not only in Colorado but in cities and states across the country!
Lessons learned from childhood lemonade stands are many of the same principles that America was founded upon. Lemonade stands teach kids about entrepreneurship, small business principles, connecting with others, giving back, community and so much more.
What turned into a local Denver petition to make Denver Lemonade Stands Legal for Kids has turned into an international petition and conversation! Thank you for being part of this.
Thousands have already signed this petition from 48/50 states (we'd love to see representation from the last two states: Wyoming and Mississippi!), and 40 Countries, ranging from Argentina to Australia to Ghana to Italy to New Zealand to Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, UK to Venezuela. Wow!
The conversation started earlier this summer when my sons' neighborhood lemonade stand was shut down by police. I then created an advocacy platform: Lemonade Stand Mama. (http://www.lemonadestandmama, http://www.instagram.com/lemonadestandmama, http://www.facebook.com/lemonadestandmama) in efforts to create awareness and change of the laws in Denver, Colorado as well as in many cities and states across the USA.
The conversation and the pressure is heating up. New York Governor Cuomo has publicly taken a stand for kids lemonade stands and the New York state government is already working on changing the laws to better protect our kids. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/andrew-cuomo-lemonade-stand-brendan-mulvaney/
Let's keep this momentum going. Please pass this along to people you know so we can show that people care about this, and hopefully laws will be changed in New York, Colorado and any other city or state that is necessary, to better support our kids entrepreneurial spirit. There is power in numbers.
And if I can help support you and your community regarding kids lemonade stands, please reach out. Thank you again.
