Public Testimony Closed
Aloha everyone,
The Last and final Public testimony was on 10/14/20.
We had a great turn out!
95% of the testimony for Class1 eBikes to be allowed on NAH trails in the Sate of Hawaii and 5% was against.
We feel that all testimony is valid and needs to be heard! eBikes for sure need to manged and it is both sides bring that kind of info that shapes policy.
Mahalo for all your voices!
The rumor is the the Hawaii State DLNR is going to adapt the Federal Governments Policy from the Department of Interior.
Here are the decision by the different depts with in that division.
National Parks,BLM, Fish & Wildlife, Forestry.
https://peopleforbikes.org/federal-e-bike-rulemaking/
What this means is the Hawaii State DLNR wont have to make up class systems or regulations, meaning the wheel has been built so why reinvent it.
From there they will decide what trails to alowed and not allowed.
So far this is a rumor.
What ever the Maui NAH advisory board decides and recommends will be the precedent for the whole Sate of HI.
Mahalo once again for your support and we will update as wee know more!
Aloha
