Unless Congress acts, the Medicare Part B premium and deductible are expected to increase significantly for many dialysis patients in 2016. Specifically, any ESRD patients whose Medicare premiums are not deducted from their Social Security checks could see their premiums increase by 50 percent to $159. This would affect patients who are under 65 and are not receiving disability benefits. Patients who are currently on Social Security would not be affected; however, anyone under 65 who receives a transplant and leaves Medicare would see a much higher premium when they turn 65. New ESRD patients and retirees would also pay the higher premium. Please sign and share to urge swift Congressional action to prevent this unprecedented hike in Part B costs.
