Support Grossmont Secondary School Charter Petition

Support Grossmont Secondary School Charter Petition
The Issue
We are happy to announce that we have submitted the charter petition for our successful Grossmont Secondary School to the State Board of Education (SBE) through the California Department of Education, and we need your help to make sure it gets approved!
For more than 20 years, San Diego Unified has authorized The Charter School of San Diego’s resource centers throughout greater San Diego County. However, in an unprecedented move, the district has asked CSSD to seek alternative authorization for facilities that fall outside of district boundaries, jeopardizing resource centers relied upon by nearly 800 students whose traditional school boundaries fall within Grossmont Union High School District boundaries.
The Charter School of San Diego staff worked hard to develop a petition for a new charter, Grossmont Secondary School, which seeks to put CSSD’s East County locations under the jurisdiction of the state. The approval of Grossmont Secondary School will ensure the persistence of a school that has helped thousands of students get on a path toward a fulfilling life. The Charter School of San Diego’s locations that fall within San Diego Unified will remain part of The Charter School of San Diego, thus securing the survival of all of the School’s facilities.
Thank you so much for your support!
