With all due respect to the process, Brennen asked for a public engagement when this motion was proposed by Jas Virdi earlier this year.  The results of the Public engagement for Sunset are coming out in the next few days.  But he has stated some remarks that he believes the community wants a cricket pitch at Moberly.

My opinion and objections to Brennan’s comments are as follows: 

Field Hockey BC, Men’s Field Hockey League, Woman’s Field Hockey League, and multiple Field Hockey Club’s are supporting the installation of a pitch at Moberly.  

The Principal at Walter Moberly Elementary School has provided a letter of support for the installation of a turf with lighting at Moberly.

The immediate neighbourhood is supportive of lighting and a turf at Moberly.

Vancouver Field Sports Federation, I have reached out to them many times and they have asked me to only speak to them through our representatives who have expressed to me that VFSF is supportive as long as the other user groups hours are not affected. 

Current user groups of the field include softball and youth soccer, there is enough capacity at Moberly to support any displacement of field hours.  Moberly / Ross includes 3 grass fields and 1 all weather field, and I believe 5 softball diamonds.  

Council is not trying to shoe-horn this into Moberly.  They are supporting an underserved community and sport.  The faster we can move forward with this installation the more money we will save on the bureaucracy and help improve this communities amenities.     

Finally, I attended most of the public engagements that were done for Sunset this year and did not see you at any of them, so I question where you are getting your information.
