Update: Why We're Moving Forward Despite Setbacks

Dear Ferret Advocates,

When we launched this petition, I truly hoped it would gain momentum quickly. We had set aside a budget to run ads on all social media platforms to help spread the word. Unfortunately, because ferret legalization is considered a political issue, we were unable to advertise our cause on any social media network.

But we won’t let that stop us! Instead of waiting for the perfect opportunity, I’ve decided to push ahead. I’m going to review and refine all our exhibits and move forward with filing this petition officially.

In the meantime, I still encourage everyone to sign the petition if you haven’t yet, and I would greatly appreciate letters of support from ferret owners, veterinarians, and experts in the field. Especially veterinarians—they know the truth about domestic ferrets better than anyone. Wildlife biologists, however, are often unfamiliar with ferrets because, well, ferrets aren’t wildlife!
